EPS_Q3_Project

In groups of 1 or 2, your 3^rd Quarter project will be to interview an island entrepreneur of your choice. Each group should identify at least 2 entrepreneurs as possible local businesspeople to interview. Each group should also develop a list of questions to ask.

Your interview should include a 600 – 900 word write-up ( 2-3 double spaced pages ) and should not have font larger than 14 point. Family and friends would be good choices since you would be comfortable approaching them. However, feel free to broaden you horizons and try to interview an island entrepreneur that you are interested in, even if you’ve never met that person before. For the most part, local businesspeople are very glad to share their knowledge and experience with aspiring entrepreneurs like yourself. Don’t be bashful!

The format is entirely up to you. For example you could write a few introductory paragraphs on the background and business, followed by a series of questions and answers.

Or you could approach the assignment like you were writing a biography. The choice of format is up to you, but should include information on the entrepreneur’s background - what inspired them to open up their own businesses, who helped them out, was it planned or did it happen by chance? It should also discuss the line of business they’re in and the lessons learned from operating the business – the good times and the bad times, what they’ve done to be successful, etc.

The interview is due in 3 weeks, on Wednesday April 2^nd, the last week of the quarter. I will ask to check up on your progress in two weeks, on Tuesday March 27^th.

Any assignment not turned in on the due date, will be deducted 10 points per calendar day. This assignment will count for 20% of your overall grade.
