Mission

In Business Education we try to

*       provide a practical, learning environment where each pupil is encouraged to fulfil his/her potential

*       inspire enthusiasm about the world of business

*       develop decision-making skills

*       develop problem-solving skills

*       provide examples from the Real world

*       improve pupil’s communication and presentation skills

*       develop practical figure-work that is relevant

*       show pupils the importance of IT both in education and in the workplace

*       promote an interest in current events

*       foster the understanding of new business concepts

*       instill the need to effectively manage finances

Business Education Department Philosophy

In keeping with the goals of MVRHS School District, we believe:

1. We need to educate students on the role of business in our society and in our personal lives. We will accomplish this by setting up real-life experiences and simulations so that students can demonstrate knowledge and understanding that will make them successful personally and professionally. These experiences will also emphasize the need for responsible, ethical, and moral behavior as citizens and as members of the professional work world.

2. Because our business world is an ever changing, evolving entity, we will continue to develop our curriculum and improve our equipment so that students are learning the skills and information that is relevant to their current and future lives.

3. The world of work is becoming more dependent on people who can work in teams and think critically. We believe that it is our responsibility to provide opportunities for students to develop their critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills now so that these skills will serve the individual and the community in the future.

4. We see our curriculum as a chance to integrate the knowledge and skills students have acquired through other disciplines and apply them to real-life situations.
