What is Algebra?

The word algebra is of Arabic origin.  Is means equal or can be added to both sides of the equation.

Algebra is a branch of mathematics in which symbols, usually letters of the alphabet, are used to represent quantities and relationships that hold true for all members of a set.

Algebra 2 is a continuation of both Algebra1 and Geometry.  Topics include a variety of functions, linear functions, and representation of data, modeling with quadratic equations, polynomial, exponential and logarithmic functions, conic sections and an extensive study of trigonometry.
